That volume is the whole story behind most of what I treat here. Tissue that would recover between weekly rounds at home never gets the chance, so a Monday niggle is a Thursday problem. Add the marina crowd, where winching, hiking out and hours of grip work load shoulders and forearms in a completely different pattern, and you have two very distinct sets of bodies in one postcode.

Originally from the Algarve, Alex trained in Sydney and graduated top of his class. He spent years working alongside physiotherapists and sports medicine doctors in one of the city’s largest clinics, treating professional athletes and everyday people with the same approach.
He holds a BSc in Sports Science and is one of the few therapists in Portugal certified as a full-body Active Release Technique (ART)® practitioner, covering spine, upper limbs and lower limbs. He grew up competing in triathlon and still races, so he understands what a heavy week does to a body and what can safely be done mid-trip.

Do you come to the marina apartments?
Yes. Villas, marina apartments and hotels across Vilamoura. Marina buildings often need a fob or a code, so tell me the access arrangement when you book rather than when I am at the door.
I am playing five courses in six days. When should I book?
Mid-trip, after two or three rounds, is usually the most useful slot. Early enough that there is still a week left to benefit, late enough that whatever is going to tighten has tightened.

Can you treat me on a boat?
Only if there is a flat, stable space of roughly 2m by 3m and reasonable headroom, which rules out most of them. For anything smaller, the apartment or the clinic is the better option and you will get more out of the hour.
Is sports massage only for athletes?
No. The same techniques work for anyone with muscle tension, pain or restricted movement, including people whose main activity is a desk. What changes is the pressure and the plan, not the standard of care.
