Alex Cabrita
Remedial Massage Therapist
Alex's Story
Originally from the Algarve, Alex's life has been shaped by sport from a young age. Inspired by his father, a national triathlon champion, Alex embraced an active lifestyle, competing in triathlons, mountain biking, and water polo.
This passion for sport led him to pursue a degree in Sports Science at the Universidade da Beira Interior, where he gained a deep understanding of human movement and biomechanics. After graduating, he worked as a personal trainer, physical education teacher, and swimming instructor, sharing his knowledge and passion with others for many years.
Alex's interest in massage therapy began when he encountered clients with old injuries that exercise alone couldn't resolve. Driven by a desire to help them more effectively, he moved to Sydney, Australia, in 2012 to train as a Remedial Massage Therapist. He graduated top of his class from the NSW School of Massage.
In Sydney, Alex honed his skills working alongside physiotherapists and athletes at one of the city's largest and most advanced physiotherapy clinics. He developed a reputation for creating personalised massage treatments that delivered real results. He is a full-body Active Release Technique (ART)® practitioner, qualified in spine, upper limbs, and lower limbs.
In Sydney, remedial massage is part of the national health system — the training standards and regulatory requirements are among the most rigorous in the world. Only therapists who meet strict government requirements are recognised as remedial massage providers and authorised to offer state-subsidised treatments.
Now back in his home Algarve, Alex is dedicated to providing the highest quality sports and remedial massage therapy in the region. When he's not working, you'll find him training for his next triathlon. After a 20-year break, he returned to the sport in 2018 and has since fallen in love with it again, competing regularly at national and international level.
